This company, Mesa Airlines, is a US based regional carrier airline that is headquartered in Phoenix, Arizona. Mesa Airlines and the Mesa Air Group are the same company run by the same people. A number of airlines are working under the Air Group however each one has a separate name and headquarters location. Like you have United Express, Mesa Airlines and go! – they are all unique airlines however they are all operating for the Mesa Air group. The Hawaiian Islands have Mokulele operating for them. Mesa has a very diverse history and they are continually making a profit. US Airways Express is another name that Mesa Airlines operates through. In 1997 US Airways made an agreement with Mesa over another code share, which is why it’s under that name. US Airways Express spans out over fourteen destinations in the United States. Phoenix Arizona and Charlotte, North Carolina are the main flight bases for US Airways Express. For this code share operation the air fleet consists of Bombardier CRJ200 and CRJ900 aircraft in addition to the Dash 8 aircraft. The code share agreement that Mesa had with US Airways was not saved because Mesa had to declare bankruptcy.

Most people know of United Airlines, and Mesa struck a deal with this big airline in 2003. This agreement allowed Mesa to form operations from a number of airports, including O’Hare airport in Chicago, Washington-Dulles and Denver. Of course an entirely new marketing sub-brand was created, and it is called United Express Airlines. To this day United Express have only used Bombardier aircraft in their fleet. Dash 8 aircraft were phased out from operations in 2009, which was just a choice Mesa wanted to make.
