Gustafson isn't like your average vet. He said he prefers to take a natural approach to animal health and healing with physical therapies and nutrition. He offers, in addition to the traditional emergency and vaccination care, holistic health and nutrition checkups, enrichment massage and therapeutic ultrasound.
"My goal is to have people bring their pets in for healthcare and wellness," said Gustafson. "We will do vaccinations, of course, but annual exams do not always need to include shots."
And the things they can't handle, like major surgery, can be expedited before being sent to Bozeman.
"We'll do what we can and refer those that we can't," said Gustafson said. "We'll look at anything- cats, dogs, birds, horses- and try to help any animal in need of help."
The clinic's offerings will also include physical therapy locomotion programs, hiking trips, educational services and first-aid training and certification.
"We want our practice to fit and adapt to community needs," he said.
Sign-up for the first canine first-aid classes will be in September.
