Public drunkenness … Joel Schilling, 51, of Old York Road, Abington, was charged with public drunkenness Aug. 17 at 9:57 p.m., police said. Police said they responded to the report of a man yelling at passing cars along the 1700 block of Old York Road. Schilling was found on the median strip intoxicated and drinking alcohol, police said. Harassment … Leo Lefebvre, 39, of Anna Road, Huntingdon Valley, was charged with harassment and disorderly conduct Aug. 16 at 1:43 a.m., police said. A neighbor yelled at Lefebvre to turn his music down, but Lefebvre would not and cursed at his neighbor, according to police. After police responded and left, Lefebvre continued his behavior, police said. Police said they responded to Lefebvre’s residence three times. Drug charges … Nathan Sharin, 27, of the 6500 block of North Beechwood Street, Philadelphia, was charged with possession of controlled or counterfeit substances, public drunkenness, disorderly conduct and criminal trespass Aug. 13, police said. Sharin showed up for work at Olive Garden, 2300 Moreland Road, intoxicated, police said. Police said they noticed that Sharin had glassy eyes, and then found that Sharin had a container with a blue lid that held a substance consistent with marijuana, police said. Forgery … Najwa K. Reynolds, 28, of the 2200 block of North 2nd Street, Philadelphia, was charged with forgery, obtaining a controlled substance by fraud or deception and possession of controlled or counterfeit substances Aug. 8 at 12:30 a.m., police said. Police responded to Abington Pharmacy, at 1460 Old York Road, for a reported prescription fraud and found that Reynolds was not authorized to be in possession of the prescriptions, according to police. Terroristic threats … Fotu J. Logoleo, 27, of the 2500 block of 77th Avenue, Philadelphia, was charged with terroristic threats, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness Aug. 6 at 12:09 p.m., police said.

Man Who Shot Dog 32 Times Charged with Cruelty - Doylestown ...

A man who shot his dog repeatedly with a pellet gun was charged Monday with animal cruelty.

Paul Bevan-Xenelis, 39, of Quakertown also was charged with not licensing Kane, an American bulldog.

Bevan-Xenelis shot Kane in the head at least 32 times as the dog was tied to a fence, Doylestown Township police said Monday. Eight .22 caliber slugs were recovered from the dog's body, they said.

But Kane did not die immediately from his wounds. Instead, Bevan-Xenelis left the wounded dog tied to the fence at the Doylestown Country Club, where he worked.

Police officers responding to an anonymous call found the dog wounded but still alive.

"The unbelievable cruelty is what jumps out at you," Doylestown Township Police Chief Stephen White said Monday. "To shoot a dog 32 times in the head is obviously gross cruelty. And then to leave the dog laying there suffering is beyond horrible."

Bevan-Xenelis told police he had had adopted the dog from a Chester County-based rescue group about six months ago, White said.

On Monday, a spokeswoman for that rescue group confirmed that Bevan-Xenelis did adopt the dog from them. She said the group was working with authorities on the case, and would prefer not to be identified publicly due to the violent nature of the offense.

She said the group and its volunteers were "devastated" and "heartbroken" over the attack on the dog.

The incident began Friday, July 22. Bevan-Xenelis told police the dog bit one of his co-workers that day.

The next night, he took Kane to the Doylestown Country Club and tied the dog to a fence near a maintenance shed, police said.

He told police he left the dog there that night, but returned Sunday around 5 a.m. and shot the dog. He told police he shot Kane once in the head.

An anonymous tipster called police around 9 a.m. to report a dog alive but in distress tied to a fence.
