Carlisle police (243-5252)
• Dallas Conrad, 28, of Carlisle was charged with retail theft at 12:25 p.m. Aug. 4. Police say he took DVDs out of their packaging and hide them on himself at the Walmart on Noble Boulevard.
• A 17-year-old boy was charged with retail theft at 3:15 p.m. Aug. 4 after taking blank CDs and an FM transmitter from the Walmart on Noble Boulevard. The teen was later released to a guardian.
• Luis Rivera of Carlisle was charged with disorderly conduct at 11:15 a.m. Aug. 4 after an incident at the intersection of South East Street and East Pomfret Street after displaying a knife during an argument.
Rivera and another individual were involved in an argument reconciled in which Rivera displayed a knife, police said. The two reconciled but police confiscated the knife.
• A green backpack was stolen from NS Deli on West Willow Street Aug 4.
The victim said the bag contained roughly $200 in football gear, including knee braces and a uniform shirt.
A white man in his 20s was seen leaving the deli with the bag.
• A tire valued at $280 on a vehicle parked in the 200 block of Allen Road was slashed between 6:45 and 9:45 a.m. Aug. 4.
• The owner of a Chevrolet Cavalier parked in the 100 block of South West Street reported both driver's side tires were slashed at 12:40 a.m. Aug. 5.
• A burgundy Schwinn Sierra women's bike was stolen sometime overnight July 31-Aug. 1 from the front porch of a home in the 200 block of South College Street.
State police at Carlisle (249-2121)
• Jordan Gayman, 20, of Newville suffered minor injuries when he lost control of his Suzuki motorcycle and hit a wooden fence, traveling another 100 feet before the bike came to rest against a tree, at 1:15 p.m. Aug. 4 on Greason Road near the Barnstable Road intersection in West Pennsboro Township.

The Amazon description fails to mention that this device only works on patio doors in which the sliding part is on the inside track, not one, like mine, in which the part that slides is on the outer track. After buying it and realizing it didn’t work, I went to the manufacture’s website and there it clearly states that it does not work on sliding doors on the outside. If this had appeared in the Amazon description it would have saved me the hassle of having to return it.
The product itself looks good and the company was great about refunding my money.
