Dr Tony Tan has done a lot for Muslim community: Dr Yaacob

"(Dr Tony Tan) he was here at this mosque in 2004, 2005, if I remember correctly, especially after 9/11, trying to reach out to the Muslim community, trying to explain what is it we can do together, with the country, with the nation- to strengthen social cohesion. So we're happy for this outcome, but we'll continue to work with whoever that's been elected - in this case Dr Tan - to build a stronger Singapore." "I think we need to readjust our expectations and calibrate what is it that's important for our family, and he pointed out education, healthcare - these are the things we have to look after. So I think the message is timely, and I hope the Malay community will take into account what has been said by the Mufti, so that we can plan our years ahead in light of the possible changes to the economic structure.

Insulution: Far East expansion underway for Daily Dose

Stockholm, Sweden and Singapore | Daily Dose plans for Far East launch well advanced and first product order in production. Distribution Agreement concluded.

Earlier this year Insulution AB contracted with Aeras Medical Pte. Ltd. of Singapore to investigate and plan the launch of Daily Dose in certain countries in the Far East. Aeras Medical is an independent company run by Ping Heng Tong who has more than 20 years' experience in the life science and medical device industry and helped grow many sales organizations in Asia for companies including Bio-Rad Laboratories, Gambro and LMA. In February the two companies signed a Letter of Intent to investigate the market opportunities and to produce a plan to distribute Daily Dose in Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Vietnam. Insulution and Aeras Medical have now concluded a Distribution Agreement appointing Aeras Medical as exclusive distributor of Daily Dose for these countries. "The countries covered by Aeras Medical in the Far East are a crucial market for us. In their own right these countries have a combined population of over half-a-billion people, with a diabetes prevalence of between four and fourteen per cent. More than this, a successful launch in this territory will be a good platform for Insulution's expansion into Japan and mainland China next year," says Insulution CEO Terry Morris in Stockholm. The initial studies are completed for Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Philippines and the encouraging results have led to a collaboration by both companies in gaining product registration and permission to market in the territory. Registration is completed or well underway in three of these countries and an initial order has now been placed. "These countries in the Far East are diverse and complex markets of which we have many years' experience: each has its own registration, demographic and geographic challenges. In order to launch Daily Dose as quickly as possible we have decided to create wholly-owned subsidiaries in five countries and may enter joint ventures in others. We will launch aggressively through our existing distribution channels and also directly to end-user patients in some countries." Many people with diabetes miss crucial injections before mealtimes due to convenience, social or behavioural reasons, or sometimes miss or repeat due to forgetfulness. Daily Dose is the smallest insulin syringe in the world, and the only one designed for self-injection. It is small, easy to carry, invisible in use due to its world-patented design, and is popular amongst healthcare professionals and patients alike as an aid to better compliance.
