Support a cause
THE recent settled weather has seen sport become more consistent and this coming Bank Holiday Monday there is a great opportunity to make the most of it and support a great cause.
Local anglers Roy Butterfield and Lee Godley, currently raising funds for Leukemia and Lymphoma, have got together with Bill at Lodge Farm to run a charity event on the signal and lily ponds.
At the time of writing there are still tickets available from Roy, Geoff Mawby of Gateford Angling, Greg at Worksop Angling Supplies, Max Tackle of Clowne or from Bill at the fishery.
The cost is £15 with the draw at the onsite café and fishing from 10am to 3.30pm.
Worksop & DAA are hosting their annual junior competition on Saturday 10th September at Worksop Sandhill Lake, with two age categories, nine to 12 years and 13 to 16.
All entrants must be in possession of a current Worksop members book.
The cost is £3 with tickets available from Ken Ward Sports until 5th September.
CLUB RESULTS
BATCHELORS AC fished a three hour evening match on the field pond at Lodge Farm which saw all the anglers catching well on a variety of methods.
Mel Morris on peg 4 weighed 83lb 14oz to edge John Eves into second place with 82lb 5oz from peg 10.
Their second event took place at the Riverside Fishery at Bawtry where Morris and Eves again clinched first and second, Mel taking 15lb 10oz and John 14lb 10oz off peg 4 and 26 respectively.
Anston WMC visited Lakeside Fishery at Ranskill last Sunday on a hot summer’s day.
The win fell to Neil Hall on peg 9 with an all silver fish net of 62lb 2oz on maggot or caster.
In second Tarl Bailey had a mixed net of 42lb 15oz on the pellet feeder from peg 19.
Ray Short on peg 6 had another mixed net of silvers weighing 34lb 5oz.
The Worksop Piscatorials also visited the Lakeside Fishery where the club’s oldest members tooke first and second spots.
