For 28 years, the Port Clinton Art Festival has been recognized as one of the most successful juried art festivals in the country. More than 250,000 art enthusiasts travel to Highland Park from destinations near and far to attend this distinguished show annually. Founded and produced by Amdur Productions, the Port Clinton Art Festival returns to downtown Highland Park for its 28th year on Saturday, August 27 and Sunday, August 28 from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM daily.
“We are thrilled to once again bring these fine artists to Highland Park,” says Amy Amdur, founder of Amdur Productions. “Each year we strive to make the festival more successful and enjoyable for the artists who participate and the art enthusiasts who attend annually.”
This distinguished outdoor art festival offers fine art from more than 260 of the world's most celebrated artists. Artists from around the world vie for a spot in this show annually, yet only 260 are selected. Exhibiting artists hail from destinations across the country and as far as Israel and Canada. Exceptional artwork of all mediums is available at the festival, including ceramics, drawings, furniture, glass, jewelry, metal, paintings, photography and wood. In addition to the juried artists exhibiting, the festival hosts a Youth Art Division, which offers young artists, ages 18 and under, an opportunity to exhibit and participate in one of the finest art festivals in the country.
In addition to the incredible artwork, the festival boasts fun art activities for kids, including an art festival scavenger hunt and art projects from Make-a-Messterpiece, the ultimate creative studio for kids. Festival-goers will also have the opportunity to learn more about the artists’ craft with interactive art demos and educational booth chats taking place all weekend long.
Kicking off the festival weekend is the 5th annual Taste of Highland Park, which runs alongside the Port Clinton Art Festival on Central in downtown Highland Park. Opening Friday, August 26 at 6:00 PM and running throughout the festival weekend, the Taste features food and libations from many of Highland Park's most celebrated restaurants, including Abigailʹs American Bistro; Bluegrass; Cafe Central; The City Park Grill; Dunkin Donuts & Baskin Robbins; Fuddruckers; Jade China Bistro; Maxʹs Restaurant, Deli & Bakery; Moccioʹs Pizzeria; New York Slices; Pieroʹs Pizza; Real Urban BBQ; Stashʹs Grill; Sunset Foods; Sushi Kushi Too and Tamales…A Mexican Joint. The Highland Park Chamber of Commerce Beer & Wine Tent will also add to the event. In honor of the Taste’s five-year anniversary, select restaurants will feature $5 favorites for foodies to enjoy, and “The Art of the Mix” specialty cocktails!
