With council approval, Bronson said the Pima County Recorder's office would manage the election, and ballots will be mailed first class with printed instructions to all registered voters 26-15 days prior to the election.
Polling places will be open when Pima County holds regular or special elections because counties aren't authorized to hold all-mail elections, Bronson said. The town clerk's office plans to conduct outreach to educate voters about the new system,
Arizona Divorce 101: What You Need To Know | Peoria Arizona
Although many people believe that getting a divorce is a complicated and difficult process, this is very often not the case. If you are filing for divorce in Arizona, your first step is to understand the two types of divorce – uncontested or contested.
At the beginning of the process, all Arizona divorces are consider uncontested. First a spouse, known legally as the Petitioner, files a Petition for Dissolution with the court. This document is then served to the person’s spouse, now known as the Respondent. If the two parties are in agreement on all issues, the Respondent does not have to file an answer and the divorce remains uncontested. However in case where there are disputes, the Respondent files and answer with the court and the divorce becomes contested.
Several documents also must be filed in addition to the Petition for Dissolution of Marriage. A Preliminary Injunction and Summons must be filed, as well as an Order to Complete Parenting Class is required if there are any minor children. In some Arizona counties, such as Pima County, an Affidavit Regarding Minor Children must be filed even if there are no minor children. In other counties, such as Maricopa County, the affidavit is not required if there are no minor children.
The next step is to serve the Respondent with the documents that you filed. There are 4 types of service and which one is chosen should be the one that the Petitioner believes will be most effective and meets the statutory requirements based upon the parties’ situation. The easiest and least expensive way to serve someone Divorce documents is by Acceptance of Service. The document that gets filed with the Court is signed voluntarily by the Respondent and this document is an acknowledgment that the Respondent has received copies of the documents and that the Respondent waives a more formal service of process such as using a process server or sheriff. This document does not acknowledge whether the Respondent is in agreement with what is in the Petition and goes on to say that Respondent does not waive his or her right to file a Response. The Acceptance of Service document is often misunderstood by the Respondent and the Respondent will refuse to sign it because they believe that they are signing a document agreeing to the terms of the Divorce.
