USAF AIRMEN OF THE YEAR
Each year, the Military.com, 12 USAF airmen are named as outstanding airmen of the year. I'm late in posting this annual list, but out of respect for all Airmen who have and continue to serve is an honor to be recognized at any time. I am the daughter of an Air Force man who made me proud and always will be. Congratulations to all! "You symbolize our proud tradition," said General McNabb. "The 12 airmen are allowed to wear the aviator exceptional year of tape and bring the device bronze service star on the ribbon. The winners will also wear the insignia of the aviator exceptional one year from the date of formal presentation. They will also serve as advisory board members of the AFA enrolled for next year. Staff Sgt. Jonathan C. McCoy is a pararescueman with the 24th Special Tactics Squadron at Pope Air Force Base, NCIt is a non-commissioned officer in combat hardened who passed the scene in 2006 heroically in Operations Enduring Freedom and Iraqi Freedom. Sergeant McCoy deployed as a combat search and rescue team leader and was involved in life-threatening events, earning two bronze stars, one with valor. He served as part of a sniper element, as director of rescuing a joint task force in Iraq volatile province of Al Anbar, led rescues involving Navy Seals and Army forces and research provided combat rescue and counsel for senior officers across the spectrum of common services.Sergeant McCoy led a 17-man joint rescue fight night to get a Blackhawk helicopter crew that crashed in a lake in Iraq.
