He lived in the Aurora community his entire life. he received his bachelor's degree from Southwest Missouri State College (now Missouri State University) and his master's degree from Drury university. he worked as an art teacher at Aurora High School for 30 years, retiring in 1985. He then purchased and operated the Dollar Shop in downtown Aurora. he was a United States Army veteran, serving in the Korean War, and attended the First Presbyterian Church. Additional survivors include two daughter, Lindsey Hartwigsen; Springfield, and Lacey Maples, Crane; four sons, Kevin Hartwigsen and Kenny Hartwigsen Jr., both of Aurora, Chance Hood, Verona, and Danny Moore, Lebanon; two brothers, Raymond Hartwigsen, Aurora, and Charles Hartwigsen, Collierville, Tenn.; two sisters Mary Williams, Aurora, and Jean Perry, Crane; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Additional survivors include four sons, Ricky Harvey, West Fork, Ark., Matthew Harvey, Warrensburg, Billy Harvey, Monett and Gerald Muise Jr., Long, Okla.; seven daughters, Sherry Eubanks, Springdale, Ark., Trenna Harvey, Aurora, Tenika Muise, Monett, Kristen Lucas-Commander, Indianapolis, Ind., Terri Revolorio, Butterfield, Tracy McCall, Greenwood, Ark., and Rita Robinson, West Ford, Ark.; one brother, Kenneth Harvey,Farmington, Ark.; four sisters, Esther Simms, Farmington, Lona Carney, Purdy, Norma Holland Lincoln, Ark., and Florella Yerton, Lowell, Ark.; 19 grandchildren: and nine great-grandchildren. Following graduation from Pierce City High School in 1955, he joined the United States Air Force. After discharge, he attended college to pursue a career in the computer field. He was employed as a computer analyst for GSA Services in Kansas City until retirement. He then moved to the immediate area, where he worked in sales for Surge Farmers from 1977 to 1983 and Jay-Zee, Inc, from 1984 to 1988 as systems manager and later in his own business.
